BRP's LinQ System Explained: Tool-Free Quick Attach

Quick Answer

What is BRP's LinQ system?

LinQ is BRP's quick-attach system: compatible accessories (bags, coolers, boxes, holders) install and come off without tools on dedicated attachment points. It's found on Can-Am off-road and on-road vehicles, Sea-Doo watercraft and pontoons, and Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles. Some accessories need a model-specific base or mount: always check fitment.

If you've shopped for accessories for a Can-Am, Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo or Lynx vehicle, you've probably seen the word "LinQ" everywhere. BRP describes it as a quick-attach, quick-remove, tool-free system.

This guide explains what that changes in practice, which vehicles have it, which accessories use it, and what to check before buying to avoid a bad surprise.

How LinQ Works

The vehicle (or a base accessory installed on it) provides LinQ attachment points. Compatible accessories lock onto those points and come off just as easily, without tools. You can swap a box for a cooler, or remove all your storage for a light ride, in seconds.

BRP also uses variants of the name for some products, such as "LinQ Lite" (smaller holders, for example rod holders on certain watercraft and on Switch pontoons) and the "Multi-LinQ" plate found on some snowmobiles.

Which Vehicles Have LinQ?

  • Can-Am side-by-sides — For example LinQ tool holders on some Defender versions, and LinQ trunk boxes for the Maverick.
  • Can-Am ATVs — LinQ baskets, boxes and bags, notably for the Outlander.
  • Can-Am 3-wheel vehicles — Boxes, bags and racks for the Ryker, Spyder and Canyon, which BRP describes as customizable with LinQ accessories.
  • Can-Am motorcycles — LinQ saddlebags, tank bags and windshields for the Origin and Pulse.
  • Sea-Doo watercraft — Many models have LinQ attachment points on the rear platform; Wake models offer a LinQ ski pylon.
  • Sea-Doo Switch pontoons — LinQ and LinQ Lite modular plates, holders and bags.
  • Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles — Bags, boxes and plates; some models have a Multi-LinQ plate.

Common LinQ Accessories

You'll find these items in the Cargo & Storage category of our store, which you can also filter by vehicle type.

  • Semi-rigid bags, dry bags and explorer bags.
  • Rigid coolers and stackable modular cargo boxes.
  • Stackable auxiliary fuel caddies.
  • Tool holders, baskets and rack extensions.
  • Fishing rod holders and action camera holders.

The Benefits, and the Fitment to Check

The main benefit is flexibility: the same vehicle switches from a work setup to a touring setup without tools, and some accessories, like bags and coolers, are offered for several BRP vehicle families.

But "LinQ" doesn't mean "fits everything." Depending on the vehicle, you sometimes have to install a model-specific base, plate or mount first. BRP says so in some product descriptions: for example, the Ryker's LinQ top case requires a specific mount. Always check each accessory's fitment for your model and year, along with any required parts.
